Pastor William (Bill) Freeman is a native of Pensacola, Florida. He grew up going to church, and his father William "Dempsey" Freeman, served as a deacon, Sunday School superintendent, and youth director. Pastor Freeman followed in his father's footsteps, becoming a deacon and teaching the youth Sunday School.
However, Pastor Freeman ran from the call of God to preach for many years. It wasn't until 2021, during the COVID pandemic and due to the providence of God, that he finally recognized the call of God on his life to preach the gospel.
In 2021, Pastor Freeman was unanimously voted in as the pastor of Lawton Street Baptist Church. He has diligently served as pastor since then. He is passionate about the gospel and the teaching of the word, and has a heart to reach the community for the cause of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Freeman is a loving husband, father and grandfather. he is also a trusted friend and mentor to many. He is a man of integrity and character, and he is committed to serving God and His people.
We are so blessed to have Pastor Freeman as our pastor. He is a faithful servant of God, and he is leading us to be a church that is passionate about the gospel and committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ.
Wesley Carey, our youth and worship pastor, and his wife Leila and their four children have been with us since September of 2022. Wes is a US Army Special Operations Veteran and the founder and director of The Order of the King's Guard, which is a ministry designed to strength families through biblical discipleship. Wes is the head of the local King's Guard men's ministry here at the church while his wife, Leila, leads the women's ministry The Shieldmaidens.
